Rahul Chauhan sees himself as a versifier who works on the canvas. His utterances through colour clank against regressive societal norms, confronting the polemics of culture and belief ingrained in todays’ contemporary mind.
Born in Kanpur, India in 1987, completed his Masters in Art education in Painting from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, 2010.
Rahul has participated in Wings of Flight Part II, Sarjan Art Centre, Vadodara, 2019; Veritable concoctions, curated by Nirali Lal & YepArt.com, Fine Arts Exhibition Hall, M.S.U Baroda, 2018; Dajeon, Seoul, South Korea, 2016; Heart of India with Ninham Kali, Anand Mahindra Trust Initiative, Coomaraswamy Hall, Mumbai, 2016; Lalit Kala Akademi show, Marriot Resort, Goa 2014; Baroda March by Ruksaan Art, Mumbai, 2013’. He has been part of Space 118 Residency in 2018, Piramal Art Residency, in 2017 Mumbai and Niv Art Centre International Residency, New Delhi in 2011.
He is recipient of Junior Fellowship from Ministry of Culture, New Delhi and Gold Medallist from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi.
He lives and works in Vadodara and Goa.
