Bose Krishnamachari

Born in 1963, Bose studied painting at the Kerala Kala Peetom, Kochi, then moved on to the Sir JJ School of Art, Mumbai. He has eight solo shows to his credit. Select solo shows include 1992, AmUseuM, in collaboration with H Masud Taj and Ranjit Hoskote, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. Select group shows include 2004 Vanitas Vanitatum, Sakshi Art Gallery, Mumbai and Bombay x 17, Kashi Art Café, Cochin; 2001, Romor City, Tokyo. He has won several awards, in 2001 he was the first runner-up for the Bose Pacia Prize for Modern Art, New York and in 1985, he received the Kerala Lalit Kala Award. Bose has held a Residency at the Headlands Centre for Visual Arts, Sausalito, San Francisco, and a Charles Wallace Award to study at Goldsmiths College, London. Bose combines commitment to painting with a profound interest in design, architecture and the stylization of living and working spaces. He lives and works in Mumbai, India.
